Porting and scaling engineering applications in the cloud

Porting Scenarios smallCloud adoption in engineering is still in its early phase simply because of the complexity of many engineering applications and their demanding high-performance computing (HPC) resource requirements. While in the first phase of HPC Cloud about five years ago engineering and scientific applications have been ported to mainstream (enterprise) cloud resources, in the second phase today several cloud providers offer dedicated HPC Cloud environments built especially for performance hungry engineering simulations. In this presentation for the ISC High Performance Conference last week in Frankfurt we present examples of real engineering applications in the cloud and discuss portability and scalability issues and their solutions. We also offer 10 Guidelines for porting your application software to the HPC Cloud. See the presentation slides HERE.

The CVC is usually the three digit number located on the back of the credit card. On some cards, the CVC is displayed on the front of the card and can be 4 digits long.
